Hatchet Gallery is proud to announce its anticipated inaugural opening, marking the arrival of a dynamic new art space in Eugene. Located upstairs in the historic Cox Cannery building, the gallery’s debut exhibition will showcase a unique lineup of regional talent alongside select national and international acquisitions.

The inaugural exhibition highlights the gallery’s core mission: to provide an intentional space for visual artists at varying stages in their careers. Spearheaded by artist and gallery director Kris Hurwit, the debut lineup features five regional voices, including three standout sculpture students from Lane Community College. This exhibit showcases a diverse range of disciplines from Rachel Dedes, Andrea Ibach, Kris Hurwit and Jack Troberg. The Gallery is honored to have on display works by celebrated Eugene artist K.C. Joyce.

In addition to the featured regional artists, Hatchet Gallery will unveil permanent gallery acquisitions from celebrated Australian painter Mia Pensa and Meikel Church, recognized for his surreal and thought-provoking analog cut-outs.
